Yesterday, I walked into Video Production and noticed there was an extra person. After a few moments, I realized that she was a guest speaker. After a few more moments, I realized that she just so happened to be Ida Gearon. Needless to say, I was pretty excited.

She showed us two short films she had made, one was a documentary about the bio-diesel club at a Medford high school, and the other was this silly little video (on VHS) she had made with Bruce, her step-kids, and the 8-year-old versions of the twins from the bio-diesel video. She said they made it because the kids kept saying they wanted to make something with fake blood and dummies. I won’t say much else aside from it involved Bruce Campbell wearing redneck teeth and lots of children spewing blood.

She talked about how she got her first job in a film (basically got coffee and such for the crew until there was an opening in Wardrobe) and eventually moving into other areas of film-making, and she told me that the town of Gold Lick is still set up on their property.

She said Bruce was in LA right now, but she’s going to try to bring him in in January. We asked if he’d speak at our graduation, but she realized that it’s in June and he’d be in Florida for Burn Notice… :(

More stuff happened, and she was really nice. I hope she actually does manage that January promise. And I hope I manage to find my camera by then.
